My Crazy, Cool Nanna

January 5, 2010

This week we visit my granny. I enjoy seeing her, though she has grown a little obstinate in her later years. I won’t embarrass her by sharing her years, but let’s simply suppose she is a woman with exhaustively seasoned wisdom.

The last time I saw her I brought in my yamaha keyboard so I could perform some music for her. She relished it, but regrettably because she is not entirely there, she kept interrupting me to inquire of me to help her find a all in one scanner. Yes, she actually uses a computer. And perhaps she was interrupting me because I’m just that bad at performing with the keyboard.

I always find something enigmatic at her house when I see her. Last time, I found several books on penny stocks on her coffee table. My granny learning how to buy penny stock online? That is bizarre. I wonder what I’ll find on her cocktail table this week.

This year will make for a busy sojourn. We have to put in her fresh Emtek door knobs and air conditioner filters then repair her garden cart. I additionally must bring her old pots and pans to charity as she recently bought a fresh set of pots and pans to replace them. As a reward, she claims to also have purchased one of the best ice cream makers and the greatest of all the electic coffee makers. I appreciate it, but I also must laugh softly as she invariably claims to have or utilize only the greatest of this or that.

If all proceeds well, she’ll utilize both to dish me some delicious coffee at dawn and ice cream in the evening. That sounds like more than pay back enough for my assistance. I’m happy to help her out for nothing, but a little rich coffee and tasty ice cream does not bother me.
